Estate Plan Gift Led to Permanent Legacy at Englewood Health

Arlene ZweiflerNorbert Strauss’ long-standing commitment to Englewood Health over the past two decades includes philanthropic gifts to benefit our health system as well as 28,000+ hours of volunteer service at Englewood Hospital.

"I'm happy to volunteer at Englewood Health and happy to give them my financial support to the extent that I'm able,” shares Mr. Strauss.

Through the years, he has pledged support to a variety of philanthropic initiatives including a generous gift to Lifeline To Tomorrow, Englewood Health’s successful Emergency Care Center Campaign. His most recent gift was directed to the Medical-Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MSICU) in honor of his wife, Gertrude "Trude" Strauss, who passed away in February 2012.

"My wife's last hours were in the ICU, so I chose to direct my donation to that unit in recognition of the wonderful care she received," Mr. Strauss says.

Mr. Strauss’ gifts to the MSICU were made through his own resources and also through his wife's estate plan. In recognition of this gift, the MSICU Staff Break Room was renamed in memory of Mrs. Strauss.

You, too, can make a difference for the patients and staff at Englewood Health by planning for your future today. When you include Englewood Health in your estate plan, you have the flexibility to meet your personal, financial and philanthropic goals.
