Arlene Zweifler Makes Estate Plan Gift to Endow Scholarship for Junior Volunteers

Arlene ZweiflerArlene Zweifler is living proof that the generosity of one individual can make a lasting impact. Over the last decade, this retired school teacher’s sustained commitment to Englewood Health Foundation has helped to grow and strengthen the culture of philanthropy throughout the health care system.

“I taught in the Bronx for my entire career,” Ms. Zweifler says, “so I appreciate the role of Englewood Health in the community where I live. Making a financial commitment was a way for me to give back.”

Ms. Zweifler also welcomed the opportunity to partner with the Foundation. “I appreciate identifying the areas of support that are important to me,” she says. “I direct a portion of my yearly contribution to be used wherever it would be the most beneficial. I am happy to help any way that I can.”

When drawing up her estate plan, Ms. Zweifler made sure to include Englewood Health because it was “a good way to accomplish personal and philanthropic goals, now and in the future.” Ms. Zweifler recently endowed Englewood Health with a planned gift, The Arlene Zweifler Junior Volunteer Scholarship. Her generosity will provide college scholarships for Junior Volunteers in recognition of their service.

Ms. Zweifler is not only a longtime donor but also volunteers at Englewood Health. “It felt good to make a financial investment in the hospital,” she says. “When I also had the opportunity to give my time, it seemed like a natural progression.”
